 LIFE IN A COLLEGE

Life in a college is a most enjoyable .It is a greate exprience after the navodaya .Our college os a very good with hostels,adjustable food,good studies,mega hostel , swimming pool,ccc with  Wi-Fi,Beach and very good environment. NITK student emerge overall champion in enter NIT tournament.NIT has a very good placement with good average.Our life is enjoyable in this college. We are free , don't have any type of burden,can take food out side , if we tensed then we can go to beach and their so many fuction which are technical and culture we can enjoy.Mt department IT is very good with good placement and here we are  with whole India and culture so  by any  way our college life is very enjoyable.

Congratulation frens!! . . .here are some tips which i feel will be
helpful for your counseling, the crucial part after 2 years of hard
work result . . .
 Point to remember:
 1. Pay a Visit to IIT/JEE web-site frequently as all important guidance are regularly    upload/publish
  2. Take a print-out of all the details of instruction published in IIT/JEE website. This will help you!!
  3.Read the instruction carefully again and again. each word are important and helpful in filling-up of choices. Focus on BOLD LETTER given in the instruction.
  4. Any doubts arises while reading the instruction should be clear by DISCUSSION  with SENIORS, FRIENDS or SOMEONE WHO HAVE DONE ALL THESE BEFORE. . . .
   5. Last year 'opening and closing rank ' attached with the instruction is helpful in finding out of probability of getting admission in which IITs based on your ranking and course...This sheet is valuable in choosing of college and courses while filling up of your choices.
  6. Once you are aware of all the instructions, now decide your priority of course/subject and institute@IIT.
   7. In Choosing for college for particular subject, One-many Mapping could be applied:
       a) List all the courses in decreasing order of your choice.
       Eg: CS>Mech>Chemical
       b) List all high ranking IITs in decreasing order of your choice (Don’t include IITs  of low ranking)
       Eg: IIT-M>IIT-K>IIT-D


       Then, follow this combination:
     IIT-M(CS)>IIT-K(CS)>IIT-D(CS)>IIT-M(Mech)>IIT-K(Mech)………IIT-D(Chemical)

   8. In case your ranking is too low for all the good ranking IITs, then follow the same procedure (one-many Mapping) for Low ranking IITs. Note: Location, Infrastructure & Placement may account in time of final decision.
     Now, everything is ready for filling up of your choices.

DURING FILLING OF CHOICES:
       1. Keep yourselves relax and don’t be hurry in filling-up of choices. Read all the words written on the web-pages.
       2. Fill-up the choices.
       3. Choose maximum number of combination as you can. Based on your ranking, filling of combination should be done. “Last year opening and closing rank for each branch” will be helpful in formulating of combination.
       4. After completion of choosing/filling save it and take a print out of your choices.
       5. See your choices in the print-out paper and re-check it again.
       6. Once you are decided and convince by your choices, then only take final look-out and SUBMIT it.
       (Do not hurry in final submitting of your choices. Because you cannot edit or change your choices once you press SUBMIT button)    Make sure you have a good knowledge of every branches before you fill up the choices. Choose a branch of your interest as you will be in that department for your next 4 years, b-tech course. Every branch in IIT are equally good in their own field.

Congratulations to scholars for cracking JEE

Counselling would be the most important decision of your life. Your choice will determine your future. People get confuse when it come to choose a right subject and right college for their studies. So in my view you have mainly three ways to choose your branch, first you can choose it by your special interest in a particular subject. Secondly you may concern a senior and can clear your all doubts about the counselling. And at the last you may look into counselling brochure to find opening and closing ranks of all institutes. 
In most of the IITs the top branches are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical choosing any of these subjects is a good option. In my case I chose CSE and it is top branch in iit kharagpur. The other subjects like Chemical, Civil engineering are also good options but people often prefer the top branches. 

Regarding the degrees there is not much difference in B tech and M tech dual degree. But I advise you to prefer Btech. cause if you choose to complete m tech. also you can switch to m tech dual degree in your 3rd year. there is also a provision in IITs that if you have scored 85% and above marks in 1st year you can change your department with some regulation. So you need to put your choices which you see closer to your rank and also satisfies your interests and future intentions.

Hi,my dear friends...

Don't be afraid of counselling. it is easy enough to do it. don't take it more seriously and don't take it lightly too.don't be too much worried about this and do follow the instructions as given in your information brochure.

so if you really fill depressed as i did during my counseling than read my message and learn something from it.don't repeat my mistake again and again because it may cost your valuable future. so i am now mentioning some difficulties i faced and the way not to repeat it once again.....

1.   if you get some rank in jee than  at first during counseling they will ask you to make a user account through which you can fill your choices. so don't be afraid as it could  be a problem of internet connection in your locality.and don't wait for your  friends to fill first after which you can follow them...i did the same mistake..so i did it in a hurry.there could be a chance of getting wrong in it but i was lucky...so as you get your rank visit your near by internet cafe and get some information by your own.along with that you can consult your friends and seniors if you are facing some problem.
2. after it is done they will be asking for registration for giving/filling choices for yourself for your desired branch and iit. you have to pay Rs1000 for it.the fee payment will be through dd(demand draft) or by your atm card or some internet banking facility(it will be mentioned there).in case of dd you can consult your near by bank to make a dd.or you can pay through atm card(visa or master card).if you get some problem you contact me or any of my friends.i also got so many problem with dd as there was no facility for payment by atm card..but at last i did it with help of one of my relative through atm card.
3. after your registration is over, there will be your choice filling.i was so much worried about all this.i tried to contact my seniors but i didn't had any one of there contact numbers. so couldn't choose my appropriate branch according to my rank(my rank was 15 in st) and got mechanical engineering in iit kharagpur. although it is not a bad branch but i could have gone to iit mumbai or iit kanpur taking electronics and communication(ec) department which is a better one than this as i didn't wanted computer science(cs-which is the most good branch).so you should choose the most appropriate branch for you and if you have any problem,you can always contact any of us.
4. the 2nd mistake i did was i only opted for three iit giving mechanical branch as my choice.i was lucky and had good rank...so i escaped from getting screwed. you should always give atleast 15 choices if you have a very good rank,30 if a better rank and more than 40 if you have very low rank...you should not leave a sign so that you will be canceled out.my two friends didn't get into iit because of these reasons.
5. so how will you fill your branch and iit choice??it's a real question......    

6. 1. first you have to choose your appropriate branch and iits by consulting with friends,seniors and us.
   2. than you have to sort list them from increasing to decreasing 
   3. after sorting, make sure everything is perfect
   4. than upload it and make it final

   so good luck future iitans....do your best during your counselling and don't loose the opportunity from being in IIT.

If you are going for the counseling , I’ll suggest that you better get in touch with a
senior of you .And while filling your counseling choices you better go for as many
choices as possible .


Check according to your rank in the Counseling Brochure in the previous year rank
wise allotments and ill suggest that you better fill all the choices that are allotted
for a better rank than yours First.


And one more important thing is that you better go for what you like first , if you don’t have any particular preferences than just go according to the last year rank
wise comparisons and your seniors advices.

The most important thing, better know about what options you are filling in the choice list .don’t just go for something random or something carelessly. Or else you are gonna regret that later, I do now. About my branch, the placements are quite good. The average placement

goes around 7 lakhs per annum .This year’s highest is 40 lakhs I guess. The IIT Kharagpur Mining department is the best in the country and it gets the best placements compared to other Mining Institutes in the country. And not to forget , 100% placements. Not all department's have that.

1. always choose what you like and what you want to do in life.

2. go through counselling browser and have a idea that in which college you may get the branch of your interest.

3. contact to dakshana alumni to now the departmental fact of different IITS.and do not hesitate for asking any kind of doubt.

5. do not be disappointed with your JEE rank.find out what ican get with this rank.

6. you have only one chance so very careful otherwise your JEE rank will go in waste.

The counselling part plays a vital role in the determination of your branch at the IIT’s. While doing your counselling mind the following things


1. Get information through http://www.iitkgp.ernet.in/jee/ whether counselling is going online or offline and also get counselling brochure. Before performing any action first read carefully the counselling brochure.



2. At the time of counselling you can get opening and closing of braches according to rank. It will give you an idea about how selection procedure was done last year. 
3. You should put maximum number of choice. Don’t think that you could not be getting this or that branch. Fill the choices as according to your desire. At the time of locking your choices consider on priority of your choice. You should give maximum priority to the branch you like the most.



4. When you enter in the institute make sure that you know all building info and their location.



Once I had a engineering and drawing class. That time I did not know where the classes are going on. I thought that might be it may be in civil department because I come under civil engineering. So I go to civil department and stand in queue. When the professor came I came to know this class was for second year student. And that’s how I missed my first engineering and drawing class.
